Lauren Ferns

Lauren is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Ohio and a Provisional Art Therapist (ATR-P) from the Art Therapy Credentials Board. She completed her Master of Arts in Counseling and Art Therapy from Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, OH in May 2024. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Community Health Education from Portland State University (2014).

Lauren is now a Level 2 Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-II) and EMDR Trained through Trauma Institute & Child Trauma Institute. She has also attended trainings on treating complex trauma with Internal Family Systems, navigating reproductive trauma with art therapy, and understanding collective trauma. 

Lauren interned at the Art Therapy Studio in Cleveland, OH, facilitating group art tasks and assisting members individually. She also interned at P.A.L.S. for Healing in Independence, OH. Lauren's background includes extensive client-centered care across various industries, notably wellness, maternal/reproductive healthcare support and advocacy, and labor/postpartum doula training.

She has a background in volunteer work, having facilitated art projects with Lakota youth at the Cheyenne River Youth Project in Eagle Butte, SD, and instructed a weekly after-school group on STEM and social/health activities for Girls Guide Girls Inc. in Portland, OR. Lauren’s skills include client care, counseling, art therapy, and teamwork, as well as creative skills such as painting, drawing, ceramics, fiber arts, collage, printmaking, dance and choreography, and theatre. The focus of her Art Therapy Master's Capstone project was the development of resilience and hope in emerging adults during a pandemic through the use of bilateral art.

Lauren is also spiritually integrative and holds a Level 2 Reiki practitioner certification. With 25 years of experience, she is a dedicated student of traditional astrology, having engaged in extensive self-study and received professional training and guidance from numerous mentors. She specializes in blending the archetypes associated with the planets with the archetypes of our inner worlds through parts work.
