Joyous D. Williams, LPCC-S, LPAT, ATR-BC, CCTP

Joy is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Training Designation (LPCC-S) and Licensed Professional Art Therapist (LPAT) in Ohio, a Nationally Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC), and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). She is trained in Brain-based Trauma Informed Care, TF-CBT, and is EMDR trained through the Institute for Creative Mindfulness as of 2022.

She founded the Intuitive Clinicians Council in 2025 and currently serves as the Executive Director and Board President. The ICC works to support clinicians who are affirming of Expansive and Cultural Spiritual Practices in Healthcare and supports access to care for clients seeking aligned Clinicians. Joy is Reiki Level II trained. She is currently studying Business Astrology, and has completed studies on Intuitive Astrology, to support clinicians and clients alike in archetypal insight and growth. 

Joy brings over 15 years of clinical experience with all ages from her most recent role at Cleveland Clinic in Geriatric Inpatient Treatment, to her initial school based internship and teaching experience with children, and special needs preschoolers. In her previous role as Director of Therapeutic Art Services, she developed and launched Higley Integrated Health’s Trauma Informed Art Therapy program for adults and established an additional Art Awakenings site. She started at PSA Art Awakenings (now a part of Resilliant Health) as an Art Therapist for at-risk youth in foster, adoptive, and group home settings. She then transitioned to Site Administrator, where she managed all clinical and day-to-day operations of an art studio based psychosocial rehabilitation facility for adults with serious mental illness in Casa Grande, Arizona.

Her expertise includes Person-Centered care, Art Based Clinical Supervision Provision, and Trauma-Integrated Program Development & Launch. Joy has extensive experience in child care, child development, and interned utilizing brain-based sensory and art therapy tools, inside a horticulture garden, with immigrant children in the school setting in Phoenix, Arizona. 

Joy completed her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology & Expressive Art Therapy from Prescott College (2010) and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art with a Minor in Psychology from the College of Charleston (2006). She has served as an alumni representative for Prescott College and was Student Liaison, Membership Coordinator & later President of the Arizona Art Therapy Association Chapter. She completed a published thesis on Art, Healing & Growth: Utilizing Guided Visualization, Art Making and Self-Interview to Facilitate the Ethical Imperative of Becoming an Authentic Embodied Art Therapist.

Joy also is a Baby-wearing Advocate and Educator, supporting parents in building ease into their lives with co-regulation and attachment with their infants & toddlers, monthly, with Babywearing of Northeast Ohio and at Lakewood Family Room.
