Joyous D. Williams, LPCC-S, LPAT, ATR-BC, CCTP
Joy is Clinical Director and Founder of Recreating Dawn, starting in 2019 after relocating to Cleveland from Arizona.
She is the President and Executive Director of the Intuitive Clinicians Council, a non-profit Business Leaugue (501-c-6) founded in 2025 to validate Clinicians around the world in their clinical work and expansive spiritual practices, a support that most directories and professional therapeutic communities fail to provide.
She's a Licensed Clinical Counselor with the training designation (LPCC-S) and a Licensed Professional Art Therapist (LPAT) in Ohio, a Nationally Board-Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC) from the Art Therapy Credentials Board, and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). She is Usui Reiki Level 2 Trained, and has a Business Astrology certificate training in progress through 2025 and 2026. She has completed continuing education training in "Neuroscience of Change" and Transformational coaching from Coaches Rising. Joy became EMDR trained in 2022 through the Instutite for Creative Mindfulness and TF-CBT trained in 2023 as well.
She's worked most recently in Geriatric Inpatient Psych Treatment at Cleveland Clinic, and for nearly a decade at PSA Art Awakenings: a psychosocial rehabilitation center for adults with Serious Mental Illness in Arizona and Art Therapy program for children in foster care, group homes, and CPS custody. She began as an child and adult Art Therapist, became a Site Administrator, and later Director of Therapeutic Arts Services.
Joy graduated from Prescott College with her M.A. in Counseling Psychology and Expressive Art Therapy in 2010, completing a published thesis on Ethical Imperative of Becoming an Authentic Embodied Art Therapist.
Joy studied Painting and Psychology in Undergraduate at College of Charleston in Charleston, SC, completing her B.A. in Studio Art in 2006.
She has significant training and experience in child development and education, including practical training of neurodevelpmental practices in integrating arts, horticulture, sensory work, the brain and nervous system in trauma recovery with child immigrant populations.
She is also Director of Libraries at Babywearing of Northeast Ohio, a volunteer run non-profit organization fostering secure attachment and parenting ease through education on safe baby wearing! She educates monthly at meetings that can be found through BWofNEO's facebook page at various local libraries as well as the Lakewood Family Room.
